Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
